Well i decided to start a seperate topic to keep all the motors bs out of the noobs section. So ill chime in again. A lot of people go out and do the same thing when they want power. I/H/E and expect to see a big difference, but in all reality the difference isnt huge. I suggest going a different route. If you want a fun quick daily strip it (to a comfortable point for you). Lighten the flywheel, light weight pulleys, Light weight wheels, advance timing. These are the things that are often overlooked and left till last. Unsprung weight kills power. Id also touch the suspension before adding power cuz you just gonna add power and then have it all lost in the suspension. Its not always about power power power, but more so using the car to the best of its abilities.

wow i get my own topic. well i understand that and there will be things i do first. like a full alpine system. suspension before cam. but then it's time for my 100whp without taking the head off OR a power adder. i hope i get it, but at the same time are there other things out there that make more power alot easier. hell yeah. aba/3a swap. after i shoot for my goal. plus all the port match work that needs to be done.

its your car and your build but i just wouldnt waste my money on trying to get power out of low compression motor. If you not running boost you on a dead end quest. 100whp is gonna be hard on the fox bottom end.

From your intro post...
"...just put down 80.58 fwhp..."

Can you scan and post your (almost) stock dyno plot?

Then, when you do a follow up dyno with exhaust, post that one too? These plots are the most helpful when you (and we) have them to look at for comparison to see where the power gains are and about how big they are. It's too late for me to do it - the only thing I have left to do is maybe bump the cam up a little. Since you're starting with an essentially stock Fox motor, it would be most helpful for our members that haven't done much to ther motors yet and are trying to decide where to spend their $$$ and get the most bang for the buck.

imagine having to drive 15miles home like that, with the rest of your exhaust in the back of your wagon. And then have to go to work the next morning and not being able to fix it till you got home. Yup happened to me.

ok everyone here is a update i now have a cat and strate pipe for my exhaust. i love the sound but you can see in the video if you like it. it now likes the top of the power band more.

So the next thing before my dyno run get my clutch handled right now i am foxless. i ordered a spec stage 3+ kit some time ago. well the disc does not fit i can spin it freely on the tranny input shaft. untill i get that taken care of i am making 0whp. but once i get the clutch taken care of and broken in. i will have my mustang svo air meter (vam) (pics soon). once i get that on and running right it's time for dyno numbers. i'm hoping for 90 something to the wheels this time around. maybe even my goal of 100whp without removing the head or a power added (turbo supercharger Nos). well until next time.

Ryan

ok so today i did a svo air meter install. it took the ecu a couple mins to learn what was going on, but now it runs great. the key is to open it up and loosen the spring, you should make your own way to fit it to the car. the custom part get the car to run and turn the large gear slowly until you get a good idle. rev it some make sure it's good there. then put it one notch to far make sure it don't get any better. if it does keep going, if not witch it shouldn't go back. re seal the cap i used black RTV.

i'm sorry if none of this made any since pm me and i will try to make it more clear. all in all the car pulls ALL the way to red line now there is not the feel to shift. in fact it seems more willing to rev all together. i will dyno it with these mods. i really think i should be right about 100whp.

dyno number soon.

ps if i don't make 100whp a cam is on the way ;) then i will have my mark.

the springs are brazil shop springs cut one full coil off the front. i still need to cut the back ones. the car drives fine. i only had the road for about 2 days. i got the tranny in and it wouldn't shift into 5th gear. so i have to finish that all up. it's apart right now. the wagon is just chilling man i need to get rid of it. we might even be able to lower the price.

update

i have my tranny together. i ended up just putting the 2p 5th gear back in the car. it worked the first try. i was test driving it and poof my coil died. i was drive next to me friends mk2 gti with a aba swap and a 270 cam. he didn't run away on me like i thought he was going to. he was deff faster but not "that" much. any way the coil went out on like the 2 or 3rd pull we did. so the car is at my house. i put the fox bumper back on it.

hey quick question. HOW THE HELL DID YOU MOUNT YOUR S-10 LIP?!?!?!? i can't get it to look right.

the CAR WILL BE GETTING DYNO'D ON THE 25th of AUG in south florida for free. i will post pic of the print out. lets pray to the gods for the magic 100whp!!!!!
